It's time for a new approach.
When a group of people is energised and focused on achieving a clear goal the outcomes can be astounding and reach far and wide. Maintaining such energy and focus so that further challenges can be overcome can be more difficult, especially when funding resources are needed to keep the wheels turning.
Getting the approach right from the start can make all the difference to the task at hand, to the ability to sustain energy over time, and to get the necessary balance of resources to meet the challenges ahead year after year.
Brown ERA recognises this and can help communities to consider how best to scope out, plan, deliver and evaluate their ideas.
An era is a timeframe, its also a very helpful acronym. Brown ERA is about both the age we find ourselves in and the approach we can take to address the challenges we face:
E
Empowering
...enabling, energising, encouraging, enhancing, enriching, enterprising, entrepreneurial....whichever word you chose it's about starting off right;
R
...realistic, reactive, reflective, responsibe, regenerative, renewing, rewarding, reaching....describes the nature of the approach to be taken; and
A
...activities, attitudes, aspirations, achievement, attainment, agreement, assertion, acknowledgement, actualisation....captures the goal being sought.
Locally led community regeneration
Whichever way you look at it things need to change.
The Brown ERA is all about making postive changes at the local level in the UK - using proven community development methods to develop new ideas and opportunities, ensure strong local leadership, effective collaboration and sound business management.
"Every day we face new challenges; working together gives us the best chance of successs."
